A refined evolution of one of our signature designs, the KB1 nightstand (or end tables) showcases the very best of traditional English craftsmanship. Crafted from premium English quarter-sawn oak, each piece is entirely handmade and built to be used, enjoyed and to last for generations.
The upper cabinet is defined by beautifully exposed, hand-cut dovetail joints, an enduring hallmark of fine furniture making, housing a generously sized drawer constructed using the same time honoured technique. A subtle shadow rebate separates the cabinet from the legs, creating a sense of lightness and visual depth, while a softly sculpted curve flows seamlessly through/around the legs and across the fascia, adding elegance and movement to the form.
Every piece is designed and made in England by highly skilled craftspeople, then hand-finished with durable natural oils that enhance the rich grain while offering long lasting protection.
We use only the very finest quarter-sawn oak, an exceptional material prized for centuries by master furniture makers. Though more demanding and costly to produce, it offers remarkable stability and reveals striking medullary rays that give each piece its own unique character. These natural features are celebrated, not hidden, forming an integral part of the design.
Rooted in traditional English joinery yet influenced by European modernism, this is an original design that balances heritage with bold, contemporary expression. Each piece is made in very small batches, ensuring individuality and meticulous attention to detail.
Bespoke options are available, allowing you to tailor dimensions or explore alternative timbers such as American black walnut or English ash.
