These architectural Pillar nightstands (or end tables) are a bold expression of early European modernism with the restraint and clarity of Japanese minimalism. Designed and completely handcrafted in England, the design celebrates the structural honesty of fine materials and the skills of traditional cabinetmaking.
Each piece is constructed from carefully selected solid black walnut, chosen for its rich tone, natural depth, and enduring strength. The form is defined with hand-cut oversized dovetail joinery that is intentionally exposed as a key feature.
A distinctive turned upright column pierces through the tiered sections of the design, creating a continuous structural and visual spine. This element introduces contrast between soft cylindrical geometry and the linear elements of the piece.
These are substantial pieces of furniture, designed to be used, enjoyed and built to last for generations.
Each piece is hand finished in a highly durable eco-friendly oil that enhances the natural richness of the wood while providing long lasting protection and a tactile, natural surface quality.
Custom dimensions are available on request, allowing the design to be tailored to specific interior requirements where needed.
All pieces are individually made in England in small numbers by our skilled craftspeople, and each one carries the subtle signs of the maker’s hand.
